Museums in Brazil
Brazil is the largest country in South America and the largest Portuguese speaking nation globally, as well as the only one in the Americas.
It borders all other South American countries except Ecuador and Chile and covers 47% of the continent’s land area. Its Amazon River basin includes a vast tropical forest, home to diverse wildlife, and a diverse variety of ecological systems
Numerous tribal nations inhabited Brazil before the landing in 1500 of Portuguese explorers, who claimed the area for the Portuguese Empire.
Independence was achieved in 1822, and Brazil’s current constitution was formulated in 1988. Today Brazil is in the top ten globally in GDP and an emerging global power
