Asian Museums
Asia is our largest and most populous continent and has long been home to the majority of the human population and was the site of many of the first civilizations.
Asia was the birthplace of many of the world’s mainstream religions including Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism (or Daoism), Jainism, Sikhism, Zoroastrianism, as well as many other religions.
China and India alternated in being the largest economies in the world for the first 1800 years in the Common Era.
China, as a significant economic power, attracted many to the east and for many of the legendary wealth and prosperity of the ancient culture of India personified Asia, attracting European commerce and exploration.
As the home of many early civilizations and diverse cultures, Asia’s major cities have some of the most excellent museums in the world.
