The Shanghai Museum is a museum of ancient Chinese art in Shanghai, China. It is considered one of China’s first world-class modern museums.  The museum has a collection of over 120,000 pieces, including bronze, ceramics, calligraphy, furniture, jades, ancient coins, paintings, seals, sculptures, minority art and foreign art. The Shanghai Museum houses several items of Chinese national importance.

Among the many historical, cultural and specimen objects in the Shanghai Museum the following are highlights:

  • Ruyao porcelain wares from the Northern Song Dynasty
  • Bian Zhong of Su, Marquis of Jin
