Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum – Virtual Tour

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is one of the world’s largest museums dedicated to preserving country music artifacts and the interpretation of American popular country music.

The Country Music Association and the state of Tennessee chartered the Country Music Foundation in 1964 to collect, preserve, and publicize information and artifacts relating to the history of country music.

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum opened in 1967, and the collection began to expand with recordings, books, periodicals, sheet music, songbooks, photographs, business documents, and other materials.

Today, the museum’s archival and library of collections includes over 2.5 million artifacts. The museum has amassed one of the world’s most extensive musical collections.

In 2001 the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum moved to a new facility to store and display the museum’s growing collection of costumes, films, historic cars, musical instruments, and other artifacts.

An education department, an oral history program, a publications department were launched plus the Journal of Country Music.
